Hey Keys! Kim here again :)
Racquel just got back from her NYC trip so I decided to give her some time to adjust...to...this...SNOW STORM THAT WE ARE SO BLESSED TO BE GOING THROUGH. Now that that's out of the way, I hope everyone is staying warm, not only physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually as well. I know this type of weather can bring about feelings of sadness, depression, and isolation, so I'm here to remind you all that brighter days are ahead! We must first weather this storm in order to get through to the next season. Instead of dwelling on the negative (DEGREES!!!), you should be using this time to really get your thoughts and plans together, so when the warmer weather arrives, all that needs to be done is making actual movements.
Take a lesson from the animals that go into hibernation during these times. Before the storm, they're out here collecting the heck out of supplies and resources that are going to make their winters not as long as they really are. We can adapt this practice by picking up positive skills and hobbies such as choosing a good read, working on some drawings, even starting a journal, the list goes on. All these things can and will occupy good time during your hibernation season. During hibernation time, these animals are no where to be found. Now I'm not saying to go ghost on your loved ones, but essentially, if you need some time to be with and within yourself, this is definitely the time. If anyone makes you feel bad for hibernating during winter...they're just selfish af. Period.
Hibernation season is the best time to work on being a better you! Before the distractions of girls in sundresses, patio dining, or clubbing till the wee hours of the morning come stomping all over your timelines, make sure you're doing all the self-care needed to bounce into the next season all the way charged up and blooming as bright as possible!
Much love, Kim <3
