Lately I've been having strong feelings about my life just all of a sudden turning up and me flying all over the globe would just become second nature...Most High willing of course! That being said, I definitely plan on travelling the world and seeing as much as I can, while I still can. Here are my Top 5 places I can't wait to explore!
1. Tokyo
Who wouldn't want to go to Tokyo, Japan?! Everything looks so fun and creative, it's basically an adult play ground. PLEASE don't get me started on it being the birthplace of the ever so amazing genre of anime *dies*. I don't know if I'd be chowing down the place since I know they be VERY experimental over there...although I claim to be a "foodie"...I ain't THAT exploratory LOL. The outfits, the LEWKS, the lights, the pictures, I AM SO READY FOR YOU! Oh yea, can't forget the added bonus of looking like the tallest woman on the planet there...that should be epic.
2. Hawaii
Being an island gyal myself (Jamaica stand up!) I crave the tropics. Hawaii has always been a mysterious destination for me. I don't know if Obama being born in Hawaii subconsciously slid the destination onto my list, or the fact that I learned that this beautiful island is slowly sinking to non existence (Google it!). Either way best believe I'm going to be getting my "surfs up" on this island.
3. Los Angeles (L.A.)
Although I grew up around a city (Toronto) and have traveled to New York numerous times, something about the city of Los Angeles is just different. It has a sorta "Big Dick Energy" about it...if you get what I'm saying lol. For starters it's the land of the "stars" and whose not tryna live it up like a star. The weather seems to always be beautiful, and so does the shopping. Being involved in the industry of fashion and beauty, despite the polit(r)ics going on in the United States right now, there are countless opportunities that present themselves in a city like this. The networking and connection building is the name of the game for this gyal when she touches down. Fun Fact: In highschool me and my friends gave eachother city nicknames and mine was "L.A."!
4. Italy
Italy is a definite Euro must for me. This would most obviously be a "foodie" trip because Italian cuisine is one of my favourites! There is so much to see there and so many magical moments just waiting to happen. Did I mention the food? I'm tryna taste authentic Italian pizza that will change my life. Riding a gondala through the canals of Italy would be a vision come true.
5. Egypt
The significance of this trip is too big for words. The deep ROOTED history of my ancestors flows within every crevice of this land. As much as there is pain in the foundations of this place, there is an equal amount of triumph and joy that resonates with me when I think of Egypt. Although "they've" tried their best to erase who and what we are as a people, our identity stands as strong as the architecture that we have left behind. There is no hiding and denying that wE ARe whO WE aRe, and I'm ready to live my best Nubian Queen life.
